Fujifilm has discontinued the FCR Carbon line of computed radiography readers, and replacement parts are no longer available. MRS helps practices move to Fujifilm digital radiography, in most cases without replacing the X-ray room.
Fujifilm no longer supports the FCR Carbon line, including the FCR Carbon XL-2, and replacement parts are no longer available. If your practice still images on one of these readers, a single part failure can stop your X-ray service with no repair path. We recommend planning your move to DR now, on your schedule, rather than after a breakdown.
What moving from CR to DR changes for your practice
Fujifilm has discontinued the FCR Carbon line and replacement parts are no longer available. When a reader fails, it may not come back.
A DR retrofit panel fits the standard Buckys and holders you already have, so the generator and table stay in place.
DR sends the image to the screen in seconds. No cassette trips, no plate reading, no waiting between patients.
Fujifilm ISS detectors deliver sharper images at lower dose. Fujifilm rates the FDR ES II at up to 30% less dose than CR.
Imaging plates scratch and degrade over time. A DR detector removes the cassette and plate handling entirely.
We connect the new DR system to your existing PACS or set up EvoView PACS, so your image archive carries over.
We recommend the one that fits your room, volume and budget
The simplest move from CR to DR
Replace the CR cassettes with a Fujifilm FDR ES II wireless detector. It fits the Buckys and holders you already own, and SmartSwitch automatic exposure detection means most rooms need no generator interface.
Wireless DR at an entry price
A lighter-budget Fujifilm wireless detector in 14×17 or square 17×17 sizes, with a choice of GOS or CsI scintillator. MRS configures the acquisition workstation and connects it to your PACS.
When the generator is due too
If your X-ray equipment is as old as your CR reader, replace the room and go digital in one project: a Summit AMRAD Medical radiographic system with a Fujifilm DR detector, including removal of the old equipment.
MRS continues to service existing Fujifilm CR systems while parts remain available, including sourcing quality used parts for discontinued models such as the FCR Carbon line. Tell us which reader you have and how it is performing, and we will help you keep imaging while you plan your move to DR.
MRS has installed Fujifilm imaging across South Florida, the Caribbean and the West Indies for over 25 years. Let us assess your room and recommend the right DR path.
